When the US goes through an economic slowdown, collections can become even more difficult if you're not prepared. People may lose their jobs. When they lose their jobs, they may lose their health benefits. Emotional stress can contribute to their health problems.

Federal Collection Laws - Wednesday - June 13

Each office and every collector needs to know the Federal laws that pertain to collections. Failure to follow the law can put the practice in jeopardy, as well as at risk for a lawsuit. A serious breach of a federal law could result in fines and jail time. Periodically, it's good to review these collection laws to make sure your office is in compliance.

This link can be used for a single computer log in. About 10 minutes before the webinar starts, open a new browser session, and go to the unique website link emailed to you. You can listen to the presentation on your computer's speakers, or use your telephone to call a special number to get the sound for the webinar. If you use the speakers on your computer or phone, several people can participate at the same time for the same low fee.

Getting the maximum value from a webinar

In order to get the maximum value for your webinar attendance, we encourage you to train several people in your office at the same time. Collections is a team effort, and it's great to have all team members cross trained.

Consider inviting other offices to join you. Maybe they will help share the expenses. Let each office take turns in hosting the event. Consider having a potluck lunch, or having the host office provide food. Set aside time before or after the webinar to discuss the topic. These webinars are great refresher courses for the experienced collector, and great training tools for your new employees.
